Recipients of the Valentine's 2013 Paint It Forward of Sarasota PainterIt was 2 days after Valentine’s Day 2013, and the Burnett 1-800-PAINTING team was at it again! We found ourselves blessed by the thankfulness and cheer of Bill and Summer Manda and family who gladly donned our hot pink shirts for the day as we painted their home in North Port, Florida without charge. Why did we do this? Paint It Forward is the name of the project where our team chooses one family or organization in need of painting who would be blessed if there were no charge for it. It’s not a new idea, just a spin off an old idea from the movie “Pay it Forward.” The Paint it Forward program was first used and is trade marked by our friend Josh Abramson of A.Allbright Painting in California.

“What a great team building experience, ” Steve said. “Our guys love giving and helping people.” Givers gain-the motto of BNI where I, April, am a member, is also another way to put it. Truly, we feel just as blessed or more than the recipients of the Paint It Forward project, all of our team agrees.

I really intended to pick up a paint brush and help with the actual painting, but Bill and Summer have two precious twins (one year old) who were hungry! Though Summer is a pro and feeding two babies at once, who can resist two babies?
